Back-to-School Bash

Every year, we host a back-to-school drive to support the families living at the Economy Hotel, many of whom are single mothers struggling to afford even the basic necessities while providing for their children. These parents face significant financial hardships, often with little to no community or family support, making it nearly impossible to purchase essential school supplies. Thanks to the incredible support from Reid’s Deli, who organizes an annual motorcycle ride to raise funds and gather supplies, we can ensure these children have the tools they need to succeed in school. This partnership alleviates some of the burden on the parents and empowers the children to start the school year on the right path.

Trunk or Treat

On Halloween night in 2018, Nikki and Leroy witnessed a group of children attempting to trick or treat on Fulton Industrial Blvd. The stretch they traversed was deadly; many people had been struck and killed following their very steps. The following year, we decided to host an event that allowed kids to enjoy costumes, candy, and activities in a safe, welcoming environment. With the help of our amazing volunteers and partners like Tri-Cities Church and the Junior League of Atlanta, we transform the parking lot of a local business into a festive space with decorated cars, bouncy houses, a DJ, and food. This free event creates a sense of community and allows these families to experience the holiday together without the burden of cost or logistics.
